Saur Farming

By  Kiva Oregon

Saur Farming is a husband-and-wife-run market farming operation in the foothills of Hood River, Oregon. Using their team of Norwegian Fjord draft horses, they cultivate a market garden and manage forest land. Saur Farming grows produce intensively on an acre and a half using organic methods and is committed to selling locally to their community. You can find their produce and flowers through their own CSA, the Hood River Farmer’s Market, and several local restaurants.

We believe that farms function best when they support their local community, and communities function best when they support their local farms.

Saur Farming is a three-time Kiva U.S. loan recipient. Their most recent loan of $12,000 was funded in a few days and was well-supported by the local community. Kiva U.S. loan funds will add new infrastructure and allow Ben and Anastasia to expand land and production while pursuing the goals of improving soil health and sustainability.

This 0% interest, $0 fee loan received a 2x match from Capital One.
