Twenty-five years of scrubbing led to this

 December 1, 2025

By  Misty Lambrecht

Brooke ran a cleaning business for a quarter century. She saw the same problem in every single bathroom: that toilet ring that laughs at your scrubbing, no matter how much elbow grease or chemicals you throw at it.

So she invented the Dooty Brush.

It’s eco-friendly, it actually removes the ring, it cleans under the rim where other brushes can’t reach, it stores without dripping all over your floor, and it uses replaceable heads to cut down on waste. It exists because someone who spent decades doing the work got fed up with tools designed by people who clearly never did it day in and out.

Her $13,500 Kiva loan covers packaging and office equipment. Professional packaging means retail stores take her seriously instead of dismissing her as someone with ‘just a homemade’ product. Office equipment means she can handle orders, invoices, and inventory without losing her mind or her kitchen table.

Brooke’s not chasing venture capital or trying to disrupt an industry. She made a better tool for people who want cleaner bathrooms and fewer chemicals running into their water systems. The best ideas often come from folks who’ve been elbow-deep in the problem long enough to know what actually works.
